End of the Line is a holographic short film designed to be experienced from two opposing viewpoints, each revealing a different narrative through spatialised sound. Audio movement and composition form a central part of the work’s structure, shaping how the piece is read across space.
As Head of Audio within a multidisciplinary production team, Paralel Audio developed the musical material for each narrative strand and led the sound design, recording, editing and final mix. The soundtrack was conceived to respond to viewing position, with sound sources following characters and events across the installation.
The project also involved technical development of the spatial playback system. Working with an 8.2 speaker configuration on each side of Monolith One, Paralel Audio designed the audio architecture so that sound could be channelled through the structure and perceived as emanating from the holographic sources themselves, aligning spatial illusion with the visual experience.
The film was presented on Monolith One, a custom-built, two-sided viewing installation developed specifically for the project.
